Sympathies & support: Tomorrow, Thursday 31st Oct the funeral will take place of club legend Nial ‘Tiny’ Faloon, in St Patricks Chapel Donaghmore at 11am. The club continues to offer our deep and sincere condolences, prayers and support to the wider Faloon family. Player, coach and life-long supporter, Tiny will be remembered by many for being a figure of a man with an infectious laugh and smile. A great sense of loss for a life lived fully but taken to soon. Rest in Peace Tiny.
Supporters: Club activities are on the wind down with only a handful of games left. Please keep an eye on social media for updates.
Culture: The club is hoping to host a Céili in the near future. Great night’s dancing for young and old and of course a great chance to meet new people. Look out for dates and don’t be afraid to come along and experience something new but old?
Scór na nOg: A great response so far so maith thú agus go raibh maith agaibh to Mari and Clare. First round of scór na nOg was a great success. Plenty of disciplines including music, recitation, quiz, solo singing and ballad group. Another great opportunity for our youth (U17’s) to get together, meet new friends and express their talents. Please contact Mari Mc Donnell (07866718341) or Clare Mc Crystal (07778526814) for information or to express your interest.
Irish Class: Our beginner and intermediate classes continue Tuesday’s 7pm for beginners and 8pm for intermediate. Everyone is enjoying getting to know each other and looking forward to hearing more and more Irish spoken amongst our members. No matter how much or how little irish you have this is a great wee course at a pace that suits all. Everyone Welcome.
Training and Fixtures:
Seniors and.Reserves:The Senior and Reserve season has wrapped up for 2019. The club would like to thank all our senior panel for their continued commitment in a very competitive Tyrone league. Special and sincere thanks must go to Richard and Gary and the senior management team who after four years have decided to hand the mantle on. It has to be said that they have left the incoming management with a solid platform to build on. Thanks men. We look forward now to the 2020 season.
U16 lads: It has taken a while to put 1A’s championship final and 3A’s league semi final behind us but the U16 lads must do just that this Saturday as they take on Omagh in the league semi-final knock-out. In Errigal Ciaran at 12pm. Please check tyrone website or social media for results. Maith sibh agus ádh mór to the lads and their mgt.
U13 lads: the U13 lads have only 2 games left. Starting with Errigal at home this Sun 3rd at 11:30am then their last game is next Sunday 10th away to Dungannon at 11:30am.
Ladies Football:
Ladies youth: Look out for our winter programme beginning soon. Great weekly workout for the girls as they get a chance to continue improving their football skills and building in their teams. Also a great chance for any enthusiastic parents to dip their toes in coaching lead by our ladies senior players. Look out for details of our annual presentation night. Again please keep the girls active with a football at their feet even if it is in the house.
2020 Season: if anyone is interested in joining our ladies committee or coaching/management teams for next season please get in touch with a current coach or committee member.
Tyrone fixtures link: You can check all the club fixtures and results using the tyronegaa website on this link. http://tyronegaa.ie/fixtures-results/
Upcoming Events: Please keep an eye on social media and support both our youth presentation night (early November) and our senior presentation night (date TBC). Also please keep an eye out for wee pats, coming soon.
2020 Season: We are already planning the 2020 season and as you can imagine the football club needs lots of volunteers. If you are not already, perhaps you are new to the village or area and have any interest please feel free to speak to any member and we’ll find a use for your time and skills. From cooks to coaches; CEO’s to PRO’s; thinkers and doers!! All welcome; a club for all ages!!
Sympathies & support: Also, as we remember Tiny, the club, all our players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support for others in our club and our community dealing with sickness and bereavement at this time. We would also ask that as the summer ends and autumn/winter approaches members consider the elderly in the community and offer whatever support and company they can.
