Sincere thanks to those who run our very successful lotto through 2019. Special mention to Monroe who coordinates the lotto so effortlessly. Our sincere appreciation also, to our lotto sellers with Patsy Gallagher, Philip Mc Kenna and Eamon Mc Keown again investing stand out personal effort to ensure continued success. Thanks from everyone in the club.
Club AGM: Thank-you to everyone who attended this years AGM (Mon). Those present heard a very professional, comprehensive and passionate review of the 2019 season.

Those not present will be pleased to hear that we are in an excellent health in terms of competitive success with an unprecedented year for our youth. An enviable registration of players who achieved great success and are ambitious for more. Both youth and senior players on both ladies and mens side are strong. We have exciting plans and news coming in the form of new senior mgt. Gratitude was again heaped on Richard and Gary for the phenomenal job they’ve done in the past four years. Thanks also to Micky and Niall who have also decided to stand down from Reserve Mgt.
In terms of finance the club expressed its sincere thanks on our wider membership for their continual generous support of both the club lotto and Club Donaghmore. These are the parents, grandparents and the broader family circles of the village. We also have great generosity from local businesses and individuals who sponsor field signs, kits and events etc. Thank you to all, from the committee and every member of the club.
We are extremely lucky to have such diligent officers so again sincere thank-you to Pauric, Patsy and Marty for their detailed reports. I would like to give special mention to Colly Woods who behind the scenes maintains our web and social media platforms and carries out a lot of admin work that can very easily go unnoticed. Colly, Aidan, Denver and a few others drew special mention for the fantastic job they continue to do during the Francis Donnelly Tournament.
In terms of election of Officers it’s basically ‘as you were’ with two significant changes being Darren Torres taking Vice Chairman and Mark Nugent taking Ast Secretary after Pete Conlon (snr) and Pete Falls stepped away from the committee after notably lengthy spells as servants to the club. Along with Seamy Hetheringtons stepping down we are truly indebted for over 100 yrs of service between these men. Go raibh mile maith agaibh from all in the club.
Pauric noted that a great responsibility lay with the in-coming 2020 committee. The challenges that our success in terms of numbers bring are many. Not least dealing with fixture congestion and the sharing and planning of our resources. The message was simple from the exec committee that as the heart beat of the community we must act diligently and fairly in our planning and decision making ensuring we give all our youth every opportunity to engage and avail of the great organisation that is the GAA and we must aim high in terms of putting the village on the map with our senior players drive and ambition becoming the fabric of Donaghmore village life.
Condolences were again extended on behalf of every member of the club to the families of those we lost this year. Noting the roles they played in club and village life we should continue to energise our club in their memory. The committee adopted some new faces who are welcome and will no doubt bring that added energy and momentum.

One last note was that the club will be hosting both a boys and girls team in this years feile which will be held locally in June. This is one of the biggest events in the GAA youth calendar and for those who visited Mayo this year is not only a football tournament but an exhibition of generosity and hospitality. This will be a great opportunity to put Donaghmore on the map and will undoubtedly bring out the best the club has to offer.
