Lotto: 1-7-13-18. Match 3 winners get £10 each;  NEXT DRAW: Mon 20th Jan. JACKPOT £3800. Thanks as always for your great support and good luck everyone.

Christmas Street Collection: Brendan and his team of volunteers rattled the buckets at the village traffic to the tune of £6,000.  A very generous sum from our local community which will aid the valuable work of Marie Curie, Cancer Choices and Air Ambulance.  Sincere thank-you to all who helped and donated. Thanks also to the local businesses who collected at their premises with special mention to Rachel and the team in Cafe 47 and the team in Centra who provided refreshments for our volunteers, on the day. Great community spirit, Maith sibh.

Quiz: Save Fri 31st and get your team organised. The Ladies side of the club are having a quiz in the Lower House. Always a great nights craic hosted by our own Quiz master Eamon. All welcome so come along and support the young lady footballers.

Ladies Senior: are still searching for a new manager.  A superb opportunity for someone to take on recent intermediate double winners and who are looking to put their mark on the senior league. In the meantime the girls are showing great determination and leadership by organising their own pre-season.  Well done ladies and good luck in the season ahead.

Ladies minors: Training continues Mondays 7-8pm and Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm on the taining field.  Good luck to Eamon, Dylan, Megan and the girls whose season is fast approaching. League fixtures TBC but usually begins mid Feb.

Senior and Reserves: The New Year, with New management brings new energy and excitement.  The club and all our members welcomes the appointment of John Rafferty from Armagh as our new senior manager and Jerome Grimes as Reserve manager. Good luck in the season ahead men. Training continues Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.  We would love to see as much support as possible for this years team and management so why not drop down to the club and see what you can do.

Minor Lads: are next to take on 2020 with high expectations again this season. Training is set for Wednesdays 7:30- 8:45pm and Sundays (time TBC).  Again, good luck to Aidan and the lads.

U14 lads: are out in good time with a tough programme of training ahead. Training is set for Thursdays at 7:30pm.

Any newcomers to the village are welcome.  Contact Martin O’Neill (Youth Co-ordinator) on 07801819631 or Mark Nugent (Registrar) on 07833367485. Alternatively, just bring your boots to one of the above sessions and speak with one of the coaches.

Meeting: Developments relating to the proposed changes by the CCC to 2020 season fixtures and age groups will be discussed at a Meeting on Friday at 8pm in the club.  All youth coaches are asked to attend.

Irish Class/Rang Gaelige: Our rang gaelige is growing from strength to strength. New course starts next Tues 21st Jan 7pm for beginners/8pm for intermediate. Running for 8 weeks at £20.  Finishing just before St Patrick’s Day. Book your spot with Seán Antón Ó Conalláin on 07709714100 or saconlon15@hotmail.co.uk to register interest. Everyone Welcome.

Save the Date: After last years very successful St Patricks Day Breakfast the culture committee are planning an even bigger event.  Sure to be a great morning for the family so why not stay at home for a feed and a few tunes. Contact Mari Mc Donnell on 07866 718341 if you can help or offer any ideas for our St Patrick’s Day Celebrations.

Also, please look out for an appeal for support in hosting the Feile na Og in June. The club will be hosting both a boys and a girls team for this years feile which will be held locally.  This is one of the biggest events in the GAA youth calendar and for those who visited Mayo this year is not only a football tournament but an exhibition of generosity and hospitality. This will be a great opportunity to put Donaghmore on the map and will undoubtedly bring out the best the club has to offer.

Senior Presentation night is still TBC.

Culture: The club is hosting a Céili on the 25th Jan in the Bardic.  Great night’s dancing for young and old and of course a great chance to meet new people.  Save the date and don’t be afraid to come along and experience something new but old?

Sympathies & support: The club, all our players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support for all families in our club and our community dealing with sickness and bereavement at this time. Please remember as the festive season ends we should remain considerate to not just the elderly but anyone who finds themselves lonely and make an extra special effort to call or visit.
