Good luck everyone.   https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&ik=9f5dc61f18&attid=0.1&permmsgid=msg-f:1656962791689345231&th=16feb6e14caed8cf&view=att&disp=safe

U14 lads: Again, a big year for the lads with the Feile being hosted locally.  The mgt have the lads out in good time with a tough programme of training ahead. Training is set for Thursdays at 7:30pm.

Any newcomers to the club/village are welcome.  Contact Martin O’Neill (Youth Co-ordinator) on 07801819631 or Mark Nugent (Registrar) on 07833367485. Alternatively, just bring your boots to one of the above sessions and speak with one of the coaches.

Fitted Mouth Guards: Look out for another professional mouth guard fitting session. (Tues 25th Feb between 5pm – 10pm, in the Torrent;  Please note slots will be appointed to reduce long waits). An essential bit of kit, professionally fitted at cost price of only £15. Sincere Thanks once again to James and Helen Kelly for their now annual offering of this service. Go raibh maith agaibh.

Club Maith: For those members not familiar, the club has undertaken a programme to achieve Club Maith Accreditation. Club Maith is a Club accreditation scheme which is unique to the GAA. It allows Clubs to be benchmarked against best practice standards across the full range of GAA Club activity. A Club Maith award makes a clear, proven statement about the quality of a Club, right across the board.

Club maith will complement the clubs ambitious plans for future development.  It will also see the club transform in a number of key areas related to the role the club plays in the wider community. This will involve a lot of restructuring and will of course involve a lot of local talent, expertise and commitment.  Please look out for opportunities where you can best place yourself moving the Club forward in the community.

Meeting: Developments relating to the consultation with clubs on proposed changes by the CCC to 2020 season fixtures are ongoing at county level.  We await the CCC final decision. All youth coaches are asked to keep in touch with colleagues to stay updated. Changes have been agreed in relation to Senior and Reserve and again we await the final format.

Registration: It’s that time of year again. The club would ask that as many people as possible register by signing up to Club Donaghmore.  It represents great value for money for our members and is an essential revenue for the development of the club. Contact Mark Nugent (registrar) on 07833367485 or John Mc Kenna (Club Donaghmore Rep) 07515288224.

Irish Class/Rang Gaelige: Our rang gaelige is growing from strength to strength. New course continues every Tues at 7pm for beginners/8pm for intermediate. Running for 8 weeks at £20.  Finishing just before St Patrick’s Day. Book your spot with Seán Antón Ó Conalláin on 07709714100 or saconlon15@hotmail.co.uk to register interest. New comers still welcome to join at any time.

Presentation night: for all our Seniors, Reserves and Minors is now confirmed for Sat 29th Feb in Quinns Corner.  Sure to be a great nights craic for the club. Food and entertainment on the night. Tickets and final details will follow shortly.  We would ask that everyone gets their tickets early so we can confirm numbers.

Save the Date: After last years very successful St Patricks Day Breakfast the culture committee are planning an even bigger event.  Sure to be a great morning for the family so why not stay at home for a feed and a few tunes. Contact Mari Mc Donnell on 07866 718341 if you can help or offer any ideas for our St Patrick’s Day Celebrations.

Also, please look out for an appeal for support in hosting the Feile na Og in June. The club will be hosting both a boys and a girls team for this years feile which will be held locally.  This is one of the biggest events in the GAA youth calendar and for those who visited Mayo last year is not only a football tournament but an exhibition of generosity and hospitality. This will be a great opportunity to put Donaghmore on the map and will undoubtedly bring out the best the club has to offer.

Culture: Conor and the culture committee would like to thank all who helped organise and host the ceili last Saturday, especially all who made refreshments and helped with set-up.  Great to have one back in the village. A great night for all our avid ceili dancers and hopefully something we can continue to support and enjoy. Roll on the next one.

Sympathies & support: The club, all our players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support for all families in our club and our community dealing with sickness and bereavement at this time. Please remain considerate to the elderly and anyone who finds themselves alone and make an extra special effort to call or visit.
