Covid-19 Update: Please remain vigilant and consider the fears of the most vulnerable in our community.  The club and all its members remain in a position where we must set good example by following the procedures published by the GAA and the club.  This starts with basic good hygiene.  Wash your hands; clean all surfaces and be careful with anything you share.

Return to play: ALL adult players and members MUST:

1. Achieve a certificate by completing this e-learning module. U18 players/members will be covered by their parents cert but anyone entering club grounds or activities must have completed the cert.  It’s simple reading and will take around 20mins. https://learning.gaa.ie/covid19learning. Once completed you can screen shot your certificate and send it to your team covid supervisor via whatsapp.

2. All members will be asked to complete a Health Questionnaire (now available on gaa.ie; click return to play). Some issues have been reported so be patient and be prepared to try and complete a couple of times. Responsibility is with the individual or parent to notify the respective team covid supervisor should their health condition change.http://returntoplay.gaa.ie/

The onus in the successful and safe return to play is very much with our members.  A responsible and diligent approach to how we continue to contain the covid-19 virus will ensure safety and good health for all and will allow the path to some kind of normality to continue.

Fixtures: The draw for the 2020 league took place last night and our group is available on tyrone website.  Fixtures are expected this weekend.  Training will resume for everyone from this week on. Team whatsapp groups will confirm details as the club and coaches agree a schedule based on pitch availability. This training schedule will only be for July as a revised pitch schedule will be needed to accommodate fixtures.

Senior and Reserves: training continues for both teams.  Fixtures are expected out this week.

Ladies Seniors: training resumes Thursday 2nd of July, and Sundays with fixtures expected to begin mid July.

Ladies minors: training has resumed Mondays at 7:45pm with fixtures mid July.

U16 Ladies: training starts this Wed 1st July at 7:45pm; with fixtures expected to start around the end of August

U16 Lads: training starts again Thursday and Sunday.

U14 Ladies: training will resume Saturday at 12 but no competition has been planned so far.

U12 Girls: will train Thursdays 6-7pm before the senior ladies.

U12 Boys: will train Mondays (times as per whatsapp)

U6,U8, U10 Boys and Girls: will all train on a Monday evening.  It looks like there will be no competition for these age groups.  This will be a phased approach and needs careful co-ordination.  Parents are asked to be extra diligent around covid processes and patient with arrangements.

Any newcomers to the club/village are welcome.  Contact Martin O’Neill (Youth Co-ordinator) on 07801819631 or Mark Nugent (Registrar) on 07833367485. Alternatively, just bring your boots to one of the above sessions and speak with one of the coaches.

Skills and Fitness retention for all our youth: Thank you to all our members and their families for continuing to keep fit and practice your football skills.  Special mention to our many coaches who sent out challenges and skills drills.  We’ll all agree it kept us motivated and connected to our team mates and club.  Well done everyone.

Health and Well Being: We can be very proud of how the club was represented in the community efforts and we can now hopefully look forward to the Health and well being committee delivering the self care plans they had set out previous to the lock down.

Lotto: The club Lotto will resume next Monday 6th of July.  Lotto sellers will be back out and about and lotto books will be in all the local shops.  For those still uncertain about buying face to face lotto tickets we will have an online option available on the club website.  Please get behind the lotto again as it’s the single most important income for the club.

Registration:

It’s that time of year again. The club would ask that as many people as possible register by signing up to Club Donaghmore. You also get entered in the Club Donaghmore members monthly draw. It represents great value for money for our members and is an essential revenue for the development of the club.  Contact Mark Nugent (registrar) on 07833367485 or John Mc Kenna (Club Donaghmore Rep) 07515288224.

Alternatively, you can register and pay via club website.

Referees: We are also appealing for anyone inside or outside the club to come on board as our club referee.  The challenges are well documented.  Are you passionate about football; fair, decisive, strong?  We will support you in all ways possible through courses and resources.  You don’t have to have experience we will ease you in through youth football at a pace you are comfortable with. If you have any questions or are in any way interested please contact Darren Torres 07909 996450.

Last man Standing:

Round 6 had 78 still standing until Leicester claimed 34 and with a couple of other fallers we are down to 42. Crystal Palace have already claimed 2 more in Round 7 so 40 still standing.  Make sure your selections are in early.  Good luck everyone and thanks for your support.

Sympathies & support:

We continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support for all families in our club and our community dealing with sickness and bereavement at this time.  Please remain considerate to the elderly and anyone who finds themselves alone and make an extra special effort to call or visit.
